Maj Jeffrey J. Smith is the Director of Behavioral Medicine of Graduate Medical Education at David Grant Medical Center (DGMC) in Travis Air Force Base, California. He also serves as faculty in the Family Medicine Residency program at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. His responsibilities include teaching and consulting family medicine residents, physicians, and other health care professionals while contributing to the knowledge base of research, publications, and presentations to produce future leaders of Air Force Family Medicine. He is also the Air Force Lifestyle & Performance Medicine Working Group Behavioral Health Champion.

Maj Smith earned a Master of Social Work from Syracuse University in 2004 and a Doctor of Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2021. He holds a license in Clinical Social Work and is board certified by the American Board of Clinical Social Work as well as the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.
