Program Description: This course is offered in support of continuous process improvement (CPI) training requirements across the Defense Health Agency. Conducted by Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Master Black Belts and Black Belts, the course will be offered at a minimum of approximately once per month with flexibility in dates to accommodate MTF operational commitments, facility events, and personnel activities, which may impact the number of attendees. The course will be offered primarily in a virtually setting and developed for 6-12 participants.

The DHA Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) Competency Training is conducted for new DHA hires (psychologists, social workers, LPCs) working as BHCs in primary care. The training aims to familiarize new trainees with the PCBH model of care delivery that is used in primary care clinics. The training will have didactic components as well as the use of role plays and experiential activities to familiarize trainees with the unique skills required to function optimally as a BHC.

The Collaborative Auditory Vestibular Research Network (CAVRN) is organized as an annual webinar led by the Defense Health Agency’s Hearing Center of Excellence (HCE). In August 2025, CAVRN will focus on the study and implementation of hearing protector fit testing (HPFT) in the Department of Defense (DOD). HPFT is an occupational hearing loss prevention strategy to train personnel in proper hearing protection insertion techniques, and to ascertain that the hearing protectors they wear provide adequate protection for their work environment.
