TBICoE Military Acute Concussion Evaluation 2 (MACE 2) Refresher Course – 2023

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, social workers, psychologists, athletic trainers, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Utilize the Military Acute Concussion Evaluation 2 (MACE 2) as an acute assessment tool in order to screen for and identify concussion/mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI).
  2. Identify improvements to the MACE 2.
  3. Explain how the MACE 2 improves the standard of care for traumatic brain injury (TBI) identification among service members.
  4. Describe how accurate documentation and coding are essential for continuity of care.
