Program Description

This is an online course to train military health care providers on how to evaluate and manage post-traumatic headaches. It was developed by conducting evidence-based reviews, analyzing the applicability of currently clinical practice guidelines, and soliciting the input of a multidisciplinary panel of experts.

You must first take the JKO Course: DHA-US1112 Management of Headache Following Concussion BEFORE you can claim CE/CME credit for this course.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, and physician assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the occurrence of post-traumatic headache (PTH) following a concussion
  2. Articulate risk factors associated with PTH
  3. Describe and distinguish among the common types of PTH
  4. Employ the clinical recommendation to assess, identify, and treat each type of PTH
  5. Comprehend non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic treatments
  6. Use treatment guidelines for PTH in deployed and non-deployed settings
