Pharmacogenomics: The Foundation
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Identify cellular microbiology content and processes.
- Explain the pharmacogenomics (PGx) field.
- Describe pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamics principles and application to drug absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination (ADME) involved in PGx.
- Organize PGx-specific tools/resources.
- Develop a plan for further pharmacist training and use of core competencies.
- Describe varying practice models.
- Evaluate clinical protocols for application.
- Analyze CYP 2C19 and clopidogrel specific guideline.
- Analyze the newly updated G6PD-specific guidelines, and current system alerts.
- Apply resources to patient case examples (CPIC, PharmGKB).
- Summarize the Implementation Toolkit resources.
This course will be delivered in Microsoft Teams.
The course POC will send invited learners the MS Teams link and the access code to register to obtain CE/CME credit.
