DHA Hand Hygiene in Dental Healthcare Settings

Program Description

This course is intended to educate healthcare personnel on how to ensure a safe working environment utilizing Infection Prevention and Control practices in the Dental setting. It includes guidance on prevention strategies, occupational exposure, medical waste and special infection prevention and control considerations in dentistry.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

  1. Explain the relationship between hand hygiene and the spread of infection.
  2. Describe various techniques of hand hygiene.
  3. Identify what to consider when selecting hand hygiene products.
  4. List appropriate methods of compliance and monitoring.
