Day 2: Refining Recommendations
This live workshop is designed for physicians and interprofessional clinical professionals involved in clinical practice guideline development and provides structured education on evidence-based recommendation development using standardized key questions, application of GRADE methodology, and integration of patient values and preferences. Delivered over multiple consecutive days in-person, the activity addresses gaps in consistent application of guideline development methods that can affect the clarity, transparency, and usability of clinical recommendations. Participants engage in plenary instruction, facilitated breakout learning, and applied practice to evaluate evidence, determine recommendation strength and direction, draft clear and actionable recommendations, and document rationale to support implementation and future updates.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for physicians, physician associates/physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, dental hygienists, dental technicians, audiologists, speech language pathologists, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, psychologists, optometrists, social workers, registered dieticians, dietetic technicians, certified counselors, kinesiotherapists, certified case managers, allied health professionals, and clinical leaders and subject matter experts involved in guideline development. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
