Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for dieticians and dietetic technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

Army:

  1. Understand the mission and vision of the Army’s 65C consultants to the Office of the Surgeon General.
  2. Describe three priority areas for the Army’s 65C Nutrition and Dietetics concentration area.
  3. Articulate three ways nutrition professionals can personally assist with sustaining the profession of military dietetics.

Navy:

  1. Explain the organization of the Navy dietetics community, where we are stationed, staffing, and resources we use.
  2. Comprehend Navy dietetics’ operational capabilities and how we are being utilized.

USAF:

  1. State the 5 areas of Dietetics that USAF (US Air Force) Registered Dietitians (RDs) most often are assigned.
  2. Summarize the significant changes affecting the Air Force Medical Service (AFMS).
  3. Describe how the Air Force Medical Command (AFMED) reorganization impacts how USAF medical personnel relate to the Air Force/installation structure; discuss how this change is related to organizational changes within Defense Health Agency (DHA).
